João Paulo da Silveira Ribeiro, as Chairman of the Special Commission for Works, Concessions and Control of Public Administration of the Federal Council of the OAB, promoted on 10.25.2019, with the support of Agetransp, the 1st Seminar on Transport Regulation.
The event, whose purpose was to encourage discussion of the challenges linked to urban mobility in the State of Rio de Janeiro, achieved over the six rounds of debate tables, to provide a complete view of the regulatory scenario of transport.
For this, the Seminar was attended by representatives of public transport concessionaires, such as Rio Ônibus, CCR Barcas and CCR Via Lagos, MetrôRio, Supervia and Rota 116, who contributed with their respective views on the challenges that this segment currently has in times of crisis.
In addition, public agents had the opportunity to report on the daily routine of regulation. Thus, representatives of TCE/RJ, Agetransp participated in the Seminar – through their Directors Murilo Leal (chairman), Aline Almeida and Vicente Loureiro, managers of technical chambers, the attorney and the executive secretary –, Attorney Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro and Attorney General’s Office of ALERJ.
Also, issues related to the legal uncertainty that permeates the transport sector and, therefore, hinders the entry of new investors in the Brazilian scenario, as is the case of the institute of economic-financial balance of concession contracts, were discussed.
The event also had the participation of academics, who presented their positions on the challenges of regulation in times of crisis and their respective impacts on the transport sector.
